Eczema, psoriasis, and acne can be enough trouble all on their own, but when you throw sun damage into the equation, it can make things a whole lot worse. Sensitive skin can be a pain, preventing people from going out and enjoying the sun. That said, when you use face sunscreen for sensitive skin and take the right steps, there’s no reason you should have a problem.

If you’re having problems in this area and the sun seems to cause you flare-ups or other issues, we’ve written this blog that details a few measures you can take to tip the balance in your favor.

Avoiding the Hottest Hours of the Day

The intensity of the sun varies depending on the time of day, so as someone with sensitive skin, you should avoid being out in it when it’s at its strongest. The strongest sun can cause you to have to reapply face sunscreen for sensitive skin more often, so it stands to reason that being inside at this time will help to protect you and your skin.

In real terms, what this means is avoiding being outside between 11 am and 3 pm. This is particularly applicable during the year’s hottest months, which are typically from March to October.

Cover Up As Much As You Can

Another great way to protect yourself against UVA and UVB rays is to cover up with loose-fitting clothing that’s white or light-colored. This offers an extra barrier but doesn’t for a second think that this means you shouldn’t wear sunscreen, as UV rays can penetrate many types of clothing.

So, you should be combining your face sunscreen for sensitive skin with a long-sleeved shirt, a wide-brimmed hat, and some sunglasses if you’ve got them.

Use Sunscreen With an SPF 50 Rating

When choosing the right sunscreen for yourself, your sensitive skin issues need to be taken into consideration. That means choosing a sunscreen with an SPF rating of 50. As they say, it’s better to be safe than sorry, so one of the strongest formulas is going to be your ideal product.

Spend Time in the Shade, If You Can

Enjoying the sunshine doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to spend 100% of the time out in direct sunlight. Unless you’re out in the middle of a field, there should opportunities to get out of the sun and under an awning or maybe a veranda.

Every second you spend in the shade is a second that your skin isn’t having to fight off UV damage, so use it if you’re able to find some.

Enjoy the Sun By Taking the Right Steps

Thanks to face sunscreen for sensitive skin SPF 50, loose clothing, and shade, it’s possible for people with skin sensitivities to get out and enjoy the warmth and spiritual lift that you get from the sun.

Whether talking about a visit to the beach, a family barbecue, or even just a walk around the shops, there’s a lot that the sun can stop you from enjoying.

Follow the advice we’ve laid out for you here and you can start looking forward to the warmer months instead of dreading them.
