These days most of us have at some point or another purchased clothing and accessories online. Whether you prefer shopping online or more traditional methods, it is definitely an efficient way to shop that can often save you time and money and wasn’t available in the past. But, with huge developments in technology making their way into the fashion industry, could this go one step further in the not-so-distant future? We’re going to have a look at the possibility of artificial intelligence tools for selecting and buying our clothes. In the meantime, if you’re looking to grab a bargain on new items, you can save money with a Shein discount code.

When you think about artificial intelligence, you may imagine robots and machines but AI is already becoming ingrained in many other areas of our lives. We’re able to connect to devices in our homes to do many everyday tasks. The most popular form right now seems to be the smart digital assistants that many people communicate with via voice command to assist us to complete simple tasks with the aim of saving us time and becoming more efficient. Public opinion is divided on the usefulness of such smart assistants, with many stating that they could not live without them, and others who believe that they are absolutely unnecessary.

In terms of shopping online, a form of artificial intelligence already exists and it’s this very technology that allows us to receive recommendations based on our previous purchases and or viewed products. This may be relatively simple for certain impersonal objects but perhaps it hasn’t happened for clothes just yet because it’s a slightly more complicated process. After all, AI can be very efficient but how can you get the level of communication and empathy that you can get from a real person?

The vision is that in the future, new technology will enable AI to be capable of choosing or selecting our outfits, based on a range of factors including our purchase history, personal preferences, and the occasion we’re dressing for. This tech would also allow us to compare various different options in terms of our shopping for individual items and complete outfits, giving us the possibility to choose the best price.

In reality, we can actually do these things ourselves. It’s easy to find ideas and inspiration on outfits for every kind of occasion and advice on how to match certain items and decide what to wear. If we need a more personal approach we can obviously seek out the assistance of a professional stylist or helpful shop assistant.

In terms of cost, we can already search within a specific price range for different products on many websites and online stores. We can then cross-reference these findings with items on offer from different manufacturers before making a final decision on our purchase. Possibly the main advantage of replacing these activities with AI would be that we could perhaps save some time and even money. But it does seem hard to believe that any technology would ever be able to replace the human connection we often seek when it comes to selecting our clothes.

Coming back to our original question, of whether these things are possible, we have to consider that it’s highly probable, and even inevitable that more and more effective and even surprising technological advances will be introduced in the future, in a whole range of different areas, including our wardrobes. If you want to find out about the predictions and recent developments in the world of technology you can read about them in these interesting articles from the Guardian magazine.
