Water is an essential part of life. Apart from it making up to 70% of the earth’s biosphere, water also makes up 75% of your child’s body. It aids in every life activity, from respiration to digestion, and excretion as it makes up the majority of our blood, sweat, and even our digestive fluids. Reverse osmosis filtered water is one of the healthiest sources of drinking water, and kids need this to grow and function properly. Take a look at some major reasons why drinking water is the way to go for kids.

Prevents Dehydration

The average 9-yr old needs about seven glasses(56ounces) of clean water every day for metabolic activities. This helps to keep the body system (the cells, tissues, organs, etc.) in proper functional order, preventing fatigue, headaches, and all other discomforts associated with dehydration. Regularly drinking water boosts your kid’s bodily activities, gives them the energy they need to keep going, and also keeps them from being restless and grumpy.

Memory Retention

Kids who drink water regularly tend to have an advantage over those who don’t. Clean water gives children the brainpower they need to learn better and easier; it transports oxygen and nutrients critical to the brain for optimal function which helps in neuronal activation. This neuronal activation is what is needed for cognitive activities such as learning and reading.

Clear Skin

You might wonder why kids need clear skin, as all they want to do is play with their friends even if they get dirty and muddy. However, your kids will grow into adults soon enough, so why not give them a head start in building soft, clear, and supple skin? Drinking water helps to eliminate toxins that lead to rashes and other skin diseases, it flushes out the bad “vibes” in the body’s system and also decreases aging effects.

Homeostasis

Regular water intake is the major way your child can regulate the internal environment of his body, thereby maintaining the body temperature, blood pressure, and osmotic balance. All of these combined makes for a stronger, happier, and healthy kid as it keeps the immune system in check and proper functioning.

Boosts Immune System

Research has shown that dehydration in kids can affect the immune system which can lead to proneness to all kinds of illnesses. Regular and proportionate water intake increases metabolic activities and also boosts the immune system. The water helps to flush away toxins and bacteria present in the body. With these harmful substances out of the body, the immune system can carry out its normal functions and fight off diseases.

Water is a major determinant of a kid’s proper growth and development. Drinking clean water regularly is a healthy lifestyle choice that will aid their physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing as they progress through life. Make sure that your kids have clean water to drink at all times, and you can reach out to us for more tips on how to provide clean water for you and your family.
