2. Sinopec
Sinopec is a Chinese oil and gas company that also manufactures petrochemicals, fertilizers, and chemical fibers. In 2019, Sinopec sold nearly $70 million worth of its chemical products.
3. BASF SE
BASF Societas Europaea (SE) is a German company. It’s considered the largest chemical manufacturer in the world based on volume. Last year, BASF generated $74 million in chemical sales.
4. SABIC Innovative Plastics US
Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) is a Saudi Arabian company. In addition to plastics, SABIC also makes chemical fertilizers and metals. SABIC sales hit over $42 million last year, making it the fourth-largest global chemical company by revenue.
5. Formosa Plastics
Formosa Plastics Corporation is a chemical company headquartered out of Taiwan. Formosa specializes in plastic intermediaries, including PVC resins. Last year, this company brought in over $35 million in sales.
6. Ineos
Ineos is a UK-based company known for producing plastics, petrochemicals, and other chemicals. This chemical company made over $35 million in sales in 2019, tying it for fifth place on this list with Formosa Plastics.
7. ExxonMobil Chemical
ExxonMobil Chemical is the chemical manufacturing arm of US-based oil and gas company, Exxon Mobil Corporation. From power to natural gas, this company does it all. It should be no wonder ExxonMobile Chem made over $32 million in sales last year.
8. LyondellBasell Industries
LyondellBasell Industries is a multi-national company with headquarters in the US, the UK, and the Netherlands. Best known for producing general chemicals and plastics, LyondellBasell generated just over $30 million in sales for FY2019.
9. Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings
Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings is one of the Japanese company Mitsubishi’s highest-performing brands. In 2019, Mitsubishi Chemical made over $28 million in chemical product sales.
10. LG Chem
Last but not least, LG Chem LTD is the chemical manufacturing arm of the Korean company LG. Impressively, this company brought in almost $26 million in sales profits for the fiscal year 2019.
Unlike some of the other manufacturers on this list, LG Chem is solely a business-to-business company. That means it only sells its chemicals to retailers and wholesalers like Umbrella Chemical.
