With Christmas just around the corner, many of us are looking for fresh ideas and tips to make it a little more special. Too many of us cannot celebrate a large family gathering like we used to. Instead, we may just be facing a Christmas spent with our nuclear family. However, this does not mean it can’t be fun and here are some ideas our tips for different activities you can do to ensure everyone enjoys the occasion
#1 Get your message to Santa out early
There’s a new trend in sending and receiving Christmas messages from Santa. A quick search online will reveal many options, from personalized virtual parties to simple messages.
#2 Don’t let gift giving be boring
If you have children one of the best ways to get into the mood for Christmas is to drip feed them some smaller gifts in the buildup to the big day. So maybe on the 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 25th you can start giving them some smaller gifts from yourself before Santa arrives. You can even continue it throughout Christmas day and even into the following day. This is bound to keep the excitement levels high and make the kids happier.
#3 Get dressed up.
Getting a matching Christmas costume for everyone who’s going to be in your household on Christmas Day is hilarious. Everybody gets involved, and it presents the perfect opportunity to get some memorable/embarrassing photographs for years to come. Even if it’s just getting matching Christmas jumpers for all the family Christmas costumes should become all part of your annual routine.
#4 A special Christmas breakfast
Even though Christmas Day is all about gift-giving and the dinner, breakfast is regularly neglected, but if you check out Pinterest, you’ll find a wide variety of different exciting and simple breakfast you can try together
#5 Make use of tech to keep in contact with family and friends
If you’re a family or friends stranded in different parts of the world and unable to travel this Christmas, it’s easy to make some time to schedule a call, even if you’re in the middle of stuffing your turkey. Far too many loved ones may feel lonely during the festive period, so organizing some online board games or zoom charades are bound to keep everybody happy. We plan to play a zoom trivial pursuit with my cousins in Australia.
#6 Don’t be shy with the drinks
Christmas day is usually all about the grub but a little of research you’ll find a wide variety of different mocktails and Christmas cocktails you can make for all the family
#7 Family exercise routine
It’s important to remember that regardless of the weather, all the family should get out, grab some fresh air and exercise together as often as they can over Christmas. Otherwise you could face into the new year a couple of pounds
heavier
#8 Have a scavenger Hunt
This could roll into the gift-giving process by hiding them around the house or even outside for your kids to find this makes them cooperate, communicate and be more creative. Your imagination is for planning the treasure hunt.
