Hiring someone for your work or organization is not an easy task, as it requires a lot of work and a specific process that must be followed. When you are hiring an employee for your organization, it’s your utmost duty to make sure that you hire a deserving candidate.

Once you receive an application from any candidate, it’s your responsibility to make sure that the candidate is not only legally allowed to work with you, but there’s also not any criminal record.

There are many ways available to do so online, and one of the most used people search websites is Radaris that lets you search people by name and city. Using this platform, you can run a background check of the candidate you are thinking to hire as your employee. 

Apart from this, there are some essential things that you need to check on an employee before hiring. So, let’s see what these things are to understand the need and the reason behind checking such things.

1. The first thing is to verify the background details of the employee.

One of the first things that everyone must check before hiring any employee for the work is a general background check. This background check involves the candidate’s available details like the name, address, phone number, age, and nationality. Verifying these necessary background details will ensure that the candidate is not lying about these details and building your trust in that person. This thing can be either done by going through the documents manually or using an online platform involving people search engines.

2. Check the criminal records.

It’s quite apparent that no one would love to hire an employee who’s having any on-going criminal record or a past criminal severe record. So, the next thing to check on the employee you are thinking of hiring is his criminal records. Checking one’s criminal record before hiring would make sure that the person is reliable and trustworthy. There are platforms available using which you can fit a person’s criminal record. Some of them will be paid, but some are for free and just like Radaris and Google. So, make sure that you check the criminal record of the candidate before hiring him.

3. Check previous employment

Many people in the world will lie about their work experience to get a good job. So, it’s the recruiter’s responsibility to make sure that the person is not lying about his previous employment. To make sure that the candidate is telling the truth about his work experience, you can either check with the companies where the candidate has worked or check the person’s work background using people search websites or engines. This step is essential because it makes sure that the person has ascertained work experience and is not lying about the same to get the job. So, the next thing to check is to verify the work experience of the person.

4. Check the education qualifications and certifications. 

There are chances that candidates might give you a false education qualification or certifications as well. To make sure that they have written the correct and valid qualifications, you have to verify these things by going through their documents and checking these details via online platforms. There are a few platforms available that let you run an educational background, and to give you an idea, Radaris is one of the websites which enables you to do so. 

5. Check whether the person is legally allowed to work in the country or not.

Last but not least is to check whether the candidate you are thinking of hiring is allowed to work in the country or not. Because if the person is not to work in the country, it’s evident that you cannot hire that person. So, it’s essential to make sure that the person is legally allowed to work in the country, and you can do this by using people search websites.
