A surgeon whose area of expertise is doing nose jobs in Tampa pointed out that most people no longer find doctors via a phonebook or by asking friends and family for recommendations the way that they used to. He added that most people call doctors after searching for them online and by taking a look at various websites.

If you are a plastic surgeon and are considering ways to utilize digital marketing, here are some strategies to look into.

1. Start a Blog

Starting a blog is one of the best ways to bring traffic to your website and to generate leads. When people search for a certain topic, and your blog features answers or information, you will likely appear higher on the search engine’s page, thus bringing people to your website. Additionally, if people like the content they see, the more likely they will be to share it on social media for other people to see and hopefully visit your website.

Another major benefit of a blog is connecting people to your business. When a person visits a blog, they will gain a deeper understanding of what your business is like outside of daily tasks and responsibilities. Readers will trust your business as they are getting to see other perspectives and can turn to your blog for valuable and credible information and advice.

2. Redesign Your Website

The way your website looks and operates is key when it comes to the early stages of digital marketing for plastic surgeons. People are more likely to be intrigued by a business that has an aesthetically pleasing website that looks professionally done than a website that looks mundane. Similarly, it’s important that your website works the way it’s supposed to and is easy to navigate.

 It will be worth your while to hire a professional website designer to build your website. Not only will a website designer make your website look attractive with images, properly placed text, and a classic theme, he or she will also make sure the website has a fast load time, properly written URL, and other SEO (search engine optimization) aspects that the average person may now know how to manipulate.

3. Use Keywords 

Building off of the topic of SEO, an important digital marketing strategy includes using keywords throughout the website and on the blog. Keywords will help the website rank higher on Google. Keywords and keyword phrases in content make it possible for people to find your website when they search that specific keyword/phrase. 

A well-optimized website will feature the keyword multiple times within the content; thus making your website appear higher on Google so that more people can get connected to it.

4. Look into PPC

PPC (pay per click) is a form of digital advertising that can get plastic surgeons to the top search result quickly and efficiently.  In order for a business’s ad to appear alongside the results on a search engine, advertisers must participate in an ad auction. During these auctions, advertisers must submit their ad, and based on what people search, a complex algorithm will determine what ad meets the user’s search and will choose which ad to display.

The way a PPC campaign works is that when a person clicks on the company’s ad, the advertiser will pay. Because you will have to pay every time someone clicks on your ad, it’s important that you only use keywords that are relevant to your business.  

5. Take Advantage of Social Media

Social media is perhaps the easiest way to take advantage of digital advertising. Plastic surgeons can either post on social media themselves, or they can hire an SEO agency to do so on their behalf. Plastic surgeons can post on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter in order to generate business and to inform those that may be looking to utilize their service. Some popular things to post include:

  • Images of work the company has done
  • News

Social media will keep people connected to your business and will allow previous and potential clients to learn more about your business aside from what is posted on your website.
