Parents are always trying to tell their kids that things were much better when they were younger and generally speaking this is not true because kids today are very lucky to live in this modern society. There are some aspects of your parent’s childhood that were much better than yours and one of them was the fact that children were a lot more active 20 to 25 years ago and they certainly were not reliant on their digital devices to provide them with everyday fun.
The unfortunate thing is that many children nowadays are obese and they do not do any kind of physical exercise except pulling themselves out of and getting into an armchair to play on their various devices. It is a sad indication of today’s modern society and as the parent, it is your job to make sure that your children take part in more sports activities like football and they will learn from the best coaches about things like the 7 on 7 flag football playbook and many other sports tactics. You shouldn’t have to be sold on the benefits of sport for children but if you need a gentle reminder, then here are a few of them.
- Less risk of obesity – You do not want your child to be obese at such a young age because this can have a detrimental effect on their overall health as they become teenagers and then adults. If unchecked, diabetes can occur, and then your child has to take an injection for the rest of their lives. Getting them out there enjoying sports like football keeps them active and keeps the weight off.
- Stronger bones – When children are young, it is a very important time in their growth and this is the time to build stronger bones so that they don’t suffer when they grow older. Taking part in physical activities is a great way to strengthen the bonds throughout the body as well as muscles and tendons.
- Better mental health – Kids are under a lot of pressure nowadays with social media and so encouraging them to take part in sports like football provides them with social skills and the ability to make friends easily which is great for mental health outcomes.
As a parent, it is up to you to encourage your kids to get out there to take part in sports because if you leave it up to them, they will continue to play on their various digital devices and their health both physically and mentally will suffer as a direct result.
