Tell-Tale Signs You Need To Replace Your Home’s Air-Conditioning Unit

It can be hard to know when it’s time to replace your home’s air-conditioning unit. To make it easier for you, if you’re experiencing any of the following issues, it may be time to look into replacing yours.

Of course, the first recommended step is to call your air-con manufacturer and have them send an engineer to carry out an inspection. If some replacement parts and regular maintenance can do the trick, then you might be able to save a lot of money.

In any case, if you’d like to know what to look out for, read on and we’ll tell you everything you need to know…

Strange Noises

If your air-conditioning unit is making strange, loud noises when it’s running, it could be a sign that the motor is failing or the bearings are wearing down. If this is the case, you’ll likely save money in the long run by replacing your unit before it breaks down completely.

Diminished Cooling Efficiency

If your air conditioner is running more often than usual and still not doing a good job cooling your home, it may be time for a new unit. This could indicate that your current unit is no longer efficient and is struggling to keep your home cool.

High Utility Bills

If your air-conditioning bills have suddenly spiked, it may be an indication that your system is no longer running as efficiently as it used to. Upgrading to a more efficient unit can help you save money on your energy bills in the long run – while keeping your home suitably cool in the summer months.

Age of the Unit

A typical air conditioner should last between 10 and 15 years. If your device is approaching or has passed this age, you should probably replace it before it fails.

Replacing your home’s air-conditioning unit can seem like a daunting task, but it’s important to stay on top of the condition of your system to save on energy bills and maintain the comfort of your house. If you’re experiencing any of the issues mentioned above, it may be time to replace your unit.

Always test before moving into a new property

Any modern property will have an air-conditioning unit – including detached houses for sale in Thailand. If you are in the process of buying a new property, make sure that you always turn on and test the air-conditioning in a prospective house and make sure they’re in good working order.

The last thing you want is to move into a new home only to have to replace the AC immediately. If you test them first, you can spot these tell-tale signs and perhaps negotiate a deal with the seller. The fact is, they should ensure that all electrical appliances are in good working order before consciously selling their property.

Just as you’d check for any hidden plumbing issues, stay on top of your AC units as well. This is the key to keeping your home as economic and efficient as possible.
