Cancer of the skin is common in people who have spent too much time under the sun, without any protection from the rays. It affects people of all skin types. Cancer signs mainly develop on parts of the body that are too exposed to the sun, such as the face, hands, ears, legs, lips, and neck. There are different stages of skin cancer, and each has its own symptoms.   1. Basal cell carcinoma is the commonest of Cancer signs. It is also the easiest to treat, and signs tend to appear as a bump on the neck or face with a shiny exterior, or a flat lesion on the back or chest that may be brown or flesh in colour.
  2. Squamous cell carcinoma has a high tendency to spread as a contrast to basal cell carcinoma and is only treated if detected early.   3. Melanoma is the most serious and severe form of skin cancer. It is fatal and has caused many deaths, due to this early detection is very important for survival.   4. Small lesions with uneven borders with blue, white, or red spots.
  5. A mole at any place in the body that changes shape often and has an irregular appearance. It may also change size and colour and may bleed.
  6. Dark-colored lesions at the fingertips, palms, toes, hands, or on mucous membranes such as the vagina, anus, or lips
  7. Firm bumpy moles that have a pearly or waxy exterior that may appear at any place on the body.
  8. Kaposi sarcoma is a type of Cancer that is uncommon, but it is as serious as melanoma. Because it forms in the blood vessels of the skin, signs include the appearance of purple and red coloured patches on the skin and mucous membranes.
  9. Sebaceous gland carcinoma is identified by painless nodules and diagnosed as benign cancer. These appear anywhere, commonly affected sites are the eyelids. It is not common but still, it is very dangerous.

Conclusion

If you are not sure about signs of skin cancer, you may like to get the opinion of a doctor or dermatologist as waiting until the signs are more aggressive is not a good idea. Catching skin cancer early is the best for survival. So do not delay visiting a dermatologist if you find any abnormal signs or growth on your skin.
