The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection conducts the IBPS clerk exam each year for interested candidates. It is an autonomous body for jobs in clerical positions in India’s banking sector. Due to the highly competitive nature of the exams and the high number of registrations each year, it is important to score high in the written exams and in the interviews to secure the job.

One of the best ways of ensuring that is to take the IBPS Clerk mock test free to prepare oneself. Here are some ways that can help you do well.

1. Being Thorough with the Syllabus

The IBPS clerk exam is not very difficult to crack, but it requires minute attention to detail. You cannot afford to do a selective study while preparing for the test. Every section requires you to train your mind to look at the nuances.

However, it is essential to keep rotating while covering the syllabus rather than concentrating on one section for long stretches. This ensures that you cover the syllabus uniformly and get an idea about your strengths and weaknesses.

2. Taking Repeated Mock Tests

Nothing can give you a better feel and idea of the actual test than a mock test. By going through mock tests repeatedly, you can improve your timings and work on the sections you feel are slowing you down. Practice makes perfect, and this is best seen when preparing for the exam with the help of mock tests.

These tests are designed on questions that the aspirants have had to answer in the real tests over the years. So it will give you a reasonably good idea about what to expect in the exams. Always take full-length mock tests and time yourself so that you can be as stress-free as possible in the actual test.

3. Understanding Concepts

Rather than simply going through facts and problems, it is crucial to understand the underlying concepts in a given section. This is especially important for the reasoning section, where you have to apply logic to get to the correct answer.

You can start preparing by dividing the syllabus by the degree of difficulty, like levels 1, 2, 3, and so on. Analyze your performance after covering each section and identify the weak areas. Start making notes about the areas which need more research from your end. Go over the sections you were weak in, and then do a re-test, re-evaluating yourself. Keep doing this over and over till you get satisfactory marks in each section.

4. Understanding the Exam Pattern

Exam patterns change quickly, so you will find some changes between the tests held five-six or seven years back and in recent years. You can conduct an online search to understand the changing nature of the exam pattern. The puzzles you are to solve could be different, or you might find changes in the English question paper.

Even after solving more than two hundred puzzles, you might find something completely different in the exam, but that extra practice is sure to increase your speed and accuracy while solving them.

5. Strengthening your English

You have to do well in the English section of the exam because it is the official language in India, and all banking work is conducted in this language. Make sure your grammar is good, and you should also improve your vocabulary.

Practice from Standard English grammar books and start conversing in English more to do better in the interview. Work on your pronunciation and try to get rid of accents as much as possible. This can also help you improve your spelling in the writing test.

Read more and learn about new methods of applying words. It will be useful when you crack the mains, and you have to appear for the interview.

By practicing the IBPS Clerk mock test for free repeatedly enough, you have strong chances of passing the exams and securing a job in the banking sector in India, paving the way for a successful career ahead.
