Marketing text messages sound old school, but they have revived after the rise of smartphones. This channel might be cheap but it brings fast results. You can optimize the response from your efforts if you do everything right. In this article, you will learn about things you should know when running a text message marketing campaign.

Make Sure It’s Short

Text messages should be as short as possible. It’s a given that the recipient will open your message, but you have to make sure he also reads it. If the message is too long, you can expect that it will be closed right away. People that you used a group text app to send this message, so this was not difficult for you. However, they want to feel special, like the message was tailored only for them.

Focus on Opt-In Campaigns

You should send SMS to people who don’t know you but make sure you do it following all legal guidelines. Your main focus, however, should be on opt-in message campaigns. It means you will only be texting to people who have agreed to receive messages from you after providing their contact information.

Provide Value to Reader

Every message should contain something that the recipient would want to hear. Telling them that you have a new product isn’t valuable. Adding that they will get a discount because they are special would be valuable for them. Don’t make them read your messages for no reason. They will get angry and block you if your messages are a waste of time for them.

Don’t Forget Call to Action

Readers should always be told what they should do next. This is the reason why you must include a call-to-action at the end of each message. It should be attractive, precise, and clear about how the recipient can avail of what you are offering.
