Humans crave community. It is no different on social media than in real life. As an entrepreneur on Instagram, you can use this to your advantage as you work to build your Instagram followers. Although you are concerned with building your brand and business, the best way to grow is to stay customer-centric. Just as you would in a brick-and-mortar business, place your focus on what you can do for your followers and not what they can do for you and your online business. There are several ways to do this, but let us focus on the three below.

You do not want to build an Instagram following with just anyone. You want your followers to be genuinely interested in the content you create and the message you are spreading on your page. You will be shocked by the number of new followers you can gain by allowing their community to see you care about an individual and not just yourself. Humanizing your account is a strength, not a weakness. So go ahead, tell them how cute their dog is and that the vacation they went on looked amazing. It will do wonders for your own Instagram following.

Community is essential to life and to successfully build your Instagram followers. Taking the time to engage with your followers in a meaningful way can increase your following dramatically and ensure you continue to bring in authentic, genuine, and quality followers in the future.
