The Chronoboon Displacer might just be Blizzard’s solution to the problem of the world buff system that’s plaguing WoW Classic.
The 1.13.7 update for WoW Classic marks the day when buffs are finally given the spotlight that they deserve. This so-called “The Burning Crusade pre-batch update” aims to reduce spell batching, a mechanic that was first introduced in 2004. This was the time when the internet wasn’t as powerful compared to current standards. There’s plenty to talk about in terms of what will be removed from the game and new items such as the much-awaited Chronoboon Displacer. Luckily, some of the staples that gamers love such as the WoW Classic bags are here to stay even when The Burning Crusade expansion releases. There’s also a couple of additional ways to earn even more WoW Classic gold after this patch update. Besides that, there are a couple of quality-of-life changes that hope to better the experience of players when playing World of Warcraft Classic.
Goodbye to Horrible Spell Batching
Players of World of Warcraft Classic finally bid goodbye to the horrendous process of spell batching as the 400ms spell batching window has now been reduced to 10ms instead. Batching was originally introduced in 2004 and was present until 2006. During those times, internet connections were inconsistent–this was the day when technology wasn’t at its peak yet, after all. In today’s standards, having speedy internet is the way to go if players don’t want to experience some sort of lag or regression of their gameplay, especially if the game that they’re playing is online. With significantly more powerful internet, players were frustrated in the spell batching mechanic since it limits them to a certain degree on how they use their spells. By adjusting the batching window to 10ms, players will become more responsive on how they deal damage and apply their healing spells. In a nutshell, this means that players will be able to move and respond faster than ever before. Hopefully, this will make the process of farming WoW Classic gold easier as well.
The Chronoboon Displacer: WoW Classic’s Latest Item
What makes this patch update so special compared to others is that players finally get to see a new item added to the game. Meet the Chronoboom Displacer, a “pot” for every player’s world buffs. The world buff system has been in shambles since Blizzard has already planned their content for future updates, so think of the Chronoboon Displacer as the solution to the problem. What it does is bottle a player’s buffs to store and keep for later. Some of the buffs that can be stored are Warchief’s Blessing, Rallying Cry of Dragonslayer, and many more that fit the category of being a world buff. While it may sound like the Chronoboon Displacer is an overpowered item, there are a bunch of restrictions to keep it from being abused by players. Some of these significant restrictions include not benefitting from the world buffs that it’s holding for the player. The only time when the world buffs will take effect is when the player decides to release them from the Chronoboon Displacer. Another thing to note is that once a player releases the buffs, the Chronoboon Displacer will be put on a cooldown that lasts for one hour. This leads to gamers not abusing the item too much by toggling their buffs on and off during raid boss battles; instead, they’ll have to plan when’s the right time to release the buffs that they’ve stored up on the Chronoboon Displacer.
To be able to get the Chronoboom Displacer, all players have to do is to go to Chromie who’s located in Andorhal of the Western Plaguelands. They won’t be able to get the item just yet though, as players will have to help Chromie out with a quest. The quest is fairly simple. All they have to do is help her repair her time stream by bringing her some items to fix it. Once that’s dealt with, players can now purchase a Chronoboom Displacer with WoW Classic gold.
Final Thoughts
With the Chronoboon Displacer expected to release just before the Burning Crusade Classic later this year, this will no doubt help alleviate the problem of the world buff system that’s been present for so long. So far, Blizzard has no plans on tinkering or altering how the Chronoboon Displacer works. But who knows? Once they find a better solution, there’s a possibility that they might change how the item works or just scrap it altogether. What do you think of the Chronoboon Displacer? Is it worth the WoW Classic gold that you’ll have to spend for? Let us know your perspective on this down in the comments below.
