One of the best Vitamin D food sources for vegetarians is mushrooms. They are the best plant source for Vitamin D, but you’ll want to look for wild mushrooms rather than commercially grown.

Why not add some to your breakfast omelet or add to your salad? Mushrooms are so versatile that it’s easy to add a few servings each week into your diet.

2. Salmon

Salmon, and other oily fish like tuna and herring, are another great source of Vitamin D. While wild salmon contains more Vitamin D than farmed, both are still good options.

Or, if you don’t enjoy the taste of fish, you can get the same benefits from adding a cod liver supplement to your diet.

Smoked salmon goes well with eggs for a filling breakfast, or why not bake salmon fillets with a side of veggies for a healthy and delicious dinner?

3. Fortified Juices

An easy way to increase your Vitamin D dosage is with fortified juices. These juices have had Vitamin D added to them and are another good option for those who don’t eat meat or fish.

Look for fortified orange juice, soy milk, and even fortified cereals.

4. Dietary Supplements

If you’re worried that your diet may not be providing all the nutrients you need, then you may want to try a Vitamin D supplement.

That way, a daily pill can ensure you meet your daily requirements, even on a limited diet.
