If you want to make more gold as a F2P player in OSRS, then here’s what you need to know.
OSRS gold plays a massive part in Old School RuneScape. It has a pivotal role throughout the game, in which many players even choose to buy OSRS gold by finding an external resource to purchase OSRS gold for sale. If you are playing with a F2P account, then odds are you are wondering how you can take advantage of moneymaking efforts in this version of the game. You’re probably aware that you will be limited in terms of the content that you are engaging in compared to a paid membership.
Even so, there are a number of effective ways for you to make OSRS GP with a free account. With that being said, here are a few methods that you can use to get rich as a free player in Old School RuneScape.
Ogress Shamans
One of the later monsters to be added to the game, Ogress Shamans can be killed by free players to make a decent profit. This is because of the drops that they have available, which include rune helms, gems, ranarr seeds, runes, and rune battle axes.
Given that these monsters are limited by attacking with magic, you can just stay five squares from them to avoid any attacks. Their ranged defense is much lower than the magic defense too, so you can safely spot them pretty easily. Overall, you should be able to earn at least 50,000 OSRS gold per hour this way, or much more potential but you will need to take into consideration the cost of arrows if you are using this method. The Corsair Curse quest will need to be completed before you can get to the caves where these beasts live and take them down with your mighty Twisted Bow or whichever ranged weapon you have.
Pizzas
Specifically, anchovy pizzas are a great way to make a profit. Use a normal pizza on cooked anchovies once you have gotten your cooking skill up to level 55, and you will be looking at a viable method of making over 130K OSRS gold per hour.
Why are they so valuable? Because anchovy pizzas are the highest healing food within the F2P version of OSRS. You will need to have a lot of gold to invest in the ingredients, but it shouldn’t take you long to make it back given how profitable this method is. It is a popular method of earning OSRS gold, however, which is something to think about when it comes to the time of you doing it.
Iron Ore
Switching from cooking to mining, Iron Ore is one of the most recognized F2P methods of racking up OSRS gold. This will grant you a lot of profit, as well as providing you with a hefty amount of hourly experience in mining skills.
Firstly, get yourself a rune pickaxe to make the most of this method. Once your mining is at level 40, then you will be more than ready to take advantage of this moneymaking technique. Varrock East and West are great locations to visit for this, but you might want to opt for the Al Kharid mine instead, as there will be fewer bots despite the longer journey.
You could potentially switch to other ores if you wish, but you want to be able to make the most of the mining locations with Iron Ore. Other ores would mean a longer journey to the bank, and when you consider the weight and the journey, you have to think about how much you are going to be able to make per hour. With Iron Ore, you could make over 150K on an hourly basis, though Runite Ore is also very profitable if your mining skill is up to 85.
Wines of Zamorak
With the tele-grabbing technique, you can earn up to 2,000 OSRS GP for every bottle of wine that you get. You can use this method once your magic reaches level 33. Once you have got it to this point, you can then head to Asgarnia Chaos Temple to get the wines on the upper floor, though to do it without the monks attacking you your overall level will need to be at 500. There are wines on the bottom floor but you will have to put up with enemies coming for you. This would require you to kill the monks before you could seal the wine.
Or you could head to the Wilderness Chaos Temple to get the wines of Zamorak. You will have to get past potential player killers on your way, but at least won’t have to deal with having to get to level 500 beforehand. This should net you a lot of OSRS gold, and is certainly worth investing your time in.
