Are you having a hard time trying to get all the streaks off your window panes? Or maybe it’s time for some house cleaning, and you forgot to buy some window cleaner. No matter what the circumstances are, we’re here to help you out.  Before you read our handy tips, also know that you can find your perfect window cleaner at Helpling.

Different cleaning products will have different reactions with your windowpane, so you might want to customize your window cleaning solution as much as possible. The commercial cleaners you find on the market can cost way too much and contain some nasty chemicals. Instead, try a natural homemade alternative. This blog has all the information  you need to make some of the best glass cleaners you’ve ever used:

● Use only as much soap as needed.

Soap can be used to get rid of the basic dirt that you find on your window, but you must be careful not to overdo it. A lot of lather can be messy to clean up, and it can also make it challenging to get all the soap residue off. Use only as much soap as required. A tablespoon to a cup of water will be sufficient for basic window cleaning.

● If you need to get rid of tough grease or dirt spots, vinegar is your best friend.

Vinegar is a mild acid that gives it the ability to break down any grime that refuses to come out. It is ideal for getting rid of any grease, so a vinegar-water solution can be used to wipe down your kitchen counter as well.

Just make sure to dilute it well before you use it. One tablespoon to a cup of water should be more than enough for most situations. If you need a stronger solution, you can add a bit more, but the smell will also be more pungent, so keep that in mind.

● Baking soda can help you gently scrub away any material.

This powder is rough enough to scrub away any stubborn dirt spots, but the crystals are soft enough to ensure zero damage while you’re window cleaning. All you need is a little bit of the powder to work wonders.

One point to remember is that baking powder can dissolve easily. So if you’re going to use it, try putting some on a cloth and using it to scrub the window.

● Acetone or rubbing alcohol will get rid of any sticky film.

If you’ve not cleaned your windows for a long time, there’s probably a sticky layer over it. This layer might seem impossible to get rid of. Solvents like acetone are one of the few liquids that will dissolve this film without any issues. Simply apply a small amount of it to the window and rub it in. Let it sit for a minute or two and then wipe it away to get a clean window pane.

● Cornstarch can help to get the perfect shine.

Sometimes you just can’t seem to get all the grime off, but this might have been because you’ve never used cornstarch. As the powder’s consistency is so fine, it can get rid of any small particles stuck to the glass that you might have missed.

Just be sure to use it in small quantities as a little can go a long way. For a cleaning solution of around one and a half cups, a tablespoon should be more than enough. Remember to shake the bottle before every use, and you’ll be good to go.

Hopefully, these tools can give you everything you need to make your very own homemade glass cleaner. Once you know all the different ingredients you can use, it is easy to mix and match whatever you want to get the perfect homemade cleaner.  And if you’d still prefer a professional window cleaner, then try Helpling today!
