While summer calls for beautiful beaches and bright sunny days it also gets you a lot of skin issues. You would have noticed an immediate tan even if you go out in the sunlight for minutes without using any sunscreen. We have a habit of looking after our face and hands to keep them brighter but we tend to end up ignoring our feet. Hence you would see a lot of texture difference between your face and your feet especially during summer when our feet go through a lot. We understand that the skin that you have got on your feet is different. But that does not make it less important. An occasional pedicure will not solve this issue. If you wish to keep your feet happy then you would need to look after your feet as well the way you look after your face. There are many foot care products which you can get to pamper your feet. Here we are sharing a few of the easy ways through which you can easily take care of your feet during this scorchy summer.
Start with Soaking
Cleansing is the very first step in skincare. It might be easy to wash off the dirt from your face with the help of face wash but that is not applicable for your feet. Since the skin is quite thicker than the other part of the body, your feet require deep cleansing to remove all the dirt. Soaking your feet in the water would help to clean your feet. You can do it easily with some available things at your home. All you need to do is to take a tub and fill it with warm water. If you wish to pamper your feet in this soaking session then you can also add a few drops of your favourite essential oil or Epsom salt. But according to the expert’s tea tree oil always works best since it has antifungal properties. You can do this soaking once a week. This would help to soothe your feet and prepare for the next step.
Remove dead skin cells with scrubbing
Since the skin of our feet is comparatively thick it tends to accumulate a lot of dead skin cells. Hence only soaking would not solve the purpose. There are various scrubs available in the market which are specially formulated to exfoliate the dead skin cells of your feet. If you are unable to get any then you can even use the pumice stone in a circular motion to scrub your feet by using the light pressure. You can do this process immediately once you are done with the foot soaking.
Trimming the nail
Nails are the parts where the dirt tends to accumulate a lot. Hence it needs the proper cleansing well. A well soaked and scrubbed foot would not look good. It has grown nails with a lot of dirt in it. Hence make sure to trim your nails once you are done with the exfoliation session. You can use a proper nail clipper and a nail file for this. Take a precaution while cutting the toenail and make sure it gets cleaned properly. Once you are done with the trimming then you can use any base coat and then your favourite nail polish as it would prevent the staining on the nails. Make sure you remove the older nail polish completely before applying the new one.
Hydrate your feet
Hydration is the key factor to keep our skin healthy and feet are no exception to it. We tend to use body lotion or any cold cream on our feet to moisturize it. But have you ever thought that these products are formulated for different purposes and it may not be that effective? The skin on our feet is completely different from the face and body. Hence it requires a special formulation to hydrate. You can choose any thick foot cream which consists of nourishing oils. Make sure you moisturize your feet daily before going to sleep to wake up with soft and nourished skin. You can also consider wearing a sock after applying the foot cream as it helps to prevent further dryness.
Include foot care in your daily skincare routine
Taking care of your feet should not be only a weekly task or chore. It needs pampering too the way we need for our face. Hence make sure to get the right products for your feet to keep them happy during this summer.
