Go For A Bike Ride
One of the easiest things to do in the summer with your children is to go for a bike ride.
Just make sure that if it is a warm day they have on their sunscreen and of course, that they are wearing a helmet. A bike ride doesn’t have to be a whole day excursion and can simply be riding your bike around a local park or wooded area. This will help them to get exercise and will also give them time out of the house. It will also hopefully give them something to talk about and repeat if they truly enjoy it.

Walk-In The Woods
If you are lucky enough to live near a wood, the summer holidays are a perfect time to take a day trip or a simple hour walk into this naturally shady area. This can provide you and your child or children with the opportunity to spot animals that live in the woods, or to simply take in the natural surroundings. If you have a dog, why not take them with you? Be sure to take plenty of photographs too!

Go To The Beach
A somewhat mandatory activity for any summer holiday is a trip to the beach. This is a simple way for kids to have a great time and all it takes is a bucket and spade! If possible, try to go to a beach where there is sand, and as before, make sure that they are wearing plenty of sunscreen and that this is reapplied every hour or so. It is also worth potentially investing in a parasol or other sun blocker, as there are few beaches that have natural shade.

Visit A Museum
If your child is bored with the lack of school as they crave knowledge, take them to a museum. Aim to make sure that the museum focuses on something that they are interested in. If they like Natural History, try to take them to a natural history-based museum, if they like science obviously taken to a science museum.

Go To The Zoo
Much like going to the beach in the summer, the majority of people also enjoy a trip to the zoo. This can be a great way for your children to learn about animals and can also provide them with an exciting opportunity to potentially engage in handling animals if there is a petting segment in the zoo. But, of course, before you attend make sure that the price of the tickets is within your budget, as many city-based zoos can be exceedingly pricey.
