Did you ever spot clean a stain on your carpet a little too well? After all, you forgot that your carpet was originally white, instead of that darker shade, with a squiggly circle of blinding white in the middle, the spot that you cleaned.
It’s time to deep clean your carpet. If the mere notion fills you with dread, we’re here to tell you that the process doesn’t have to be overly complicated.
Keep on reading to learn our top four tips on how to deep clean your carpet that will save both your carpets and your sanity.

Deep Clean Your Carpet 101: Break Out the Lint Roller
There’s a lot to gain from using this tip, regardless of your type of carpet. However, it’s truly a godsend when it comes to long-hair carpets. We’re talking about these carpets that no matter how powerful your vacuum, you still feel like the fibers aren’t clean.
Start by using a lint roller to target some of those problematic areas. This one will require a bit of elbow grease, but you can rest assured that you’ll be collecting all the stubborn particles.

Blot Your Sins Away
We understand that it’s quite tempting to rub a stain or a spill the moment it happens, followed by scrubbing.
However, this method will do nothing more than drive the stain deeper into the carpet fibers, as well as spread across a larger surface area. Once you have a stain on your hand, all you have to do is gently dap it with a cleaning solution, a clean paper towel, or a sponge.

The Squeegee to Eliminate Pet Hair
As any pet owner would tell you, it doesn’t matter what type of vacuum cleaner you have, pet hair will haunt your carpets (and couches) for a long while.
Even with lint rollers, the shedding can be a bit overwhelming. However, if you use a squeegee, you’ll be surprised at how effective it can be at collecting your pet’s hair.
It’s a great tip to use on carpets with short hairs. Unfortunately, it’s a bit more unwieldy with long-hair carpets.

Sign up for the Club Soda Process
If this process is done correctly, you can remove some notoriously difficult stains, like beer and wine spills.
It’s quite simple. When faced with a daunting stain, pout some club side onto a clean piece of cloth, and gently blot the stain. If the stain starts getting lighter, repeat the process with more club soda.
However, if you feel like it’s not working, just mix white vinegar with water in a one-to-one ratio, and spray the solution onto the stain. Leave it to marinate for 10 to 15 minutes, then you can press a dry sponge on the area to soak up the cleaning solution. Now, you can safely rinse the area with clean warm water.
