Make It Easy To Prioritize Their Health
Having great mental and physical health is a big component of having a good work-life balance.
For many people, it can feel like they don’t have the time in the day to worry about their physical health with all of their other responsibilities. So to help your staff feel your support in this area, you should consider prioritizing physical health as something that you do at work.
This can be done through all kinds of ways. Something you might want to try could be encouraging people to use their breaks to get some exercise. You could also schedule walking meetings or provide access to a gym or gym membership to your employees at a reduced cost. If you have it in your budget or have someone you know who does exercise classes, you could also bring someone in to do an exercise class either before or after work on occasion.
Be As Flexible As You Can
While it’s good to have structure and rules for employee conduct, things like scheduling should try to be as flexible as possible. Just saying that you want your staff to be able to have a work-life balance won’t actually make it happen unless you as the leader changes things within your organization.
One great way to do this is to set the example for how staff can have a work-life balance within your business. Take days off. Work from home on occasion. Leave early for an important family event. If your staff sees you doing these things, they’ll come to know that it’s fine for them to strike this balance in their own lives as well.
