Why Print Marketing isn’t Dead

There is no doubt that the internet has changed the world of marketing. Businesses are focusing a lot of their attention on bringing in customers this way. However, this doesn’t mean that we should talk about the demise of print marketing just yet. In fact, there are a number of reasons why businesses still use print marketing. Here are a few of them.

Long-Lasting Impression

When people see something online, it is often the case that it drifts out of their mind very quickly. On the other hand, print marketing can leave a lasting impression on the mind, which seems to be something that is hard-wired into the psychology of people. So, this is just one of the possible reasons why people keep turning to companies like Printingprogress. Part of the reason may be that there are plenty of different forms of print marketing, including brochures, cards, and adverts – to name but a few.

Legitimises the Business 

While a lot of the fear of buying things online has been overcome, there are sometimes still some alarm bells that ring when people shop on the internet. However, when people see something in print, it creates an extra sense of legitimacy, which is very difficult to achieve with online marketing alone. Even if you use online marketing as well, appearing in print is a great way of doubling up on the sense that people can trust your business and everything that it has to offer.

Reach an Offline Audience 

While the internet is more and more widely used in our day to day lives, there is still a percentage of people that it cannot reach. If this offline audience is your target market, it makes sense that this is the area of marketing that you focus most of your efforts on. Even with people who are online, it can prove to be beneficial to reach them in an offline capacity. For example, a business card or a flyer is often kept and gives a useful reminder or a ‘nudge’ that you are still around and available for sales.

Boosts In-Person Interactions 

While interacting with customers online can be highly useful for the majority of the time, there sometimes comes a time when you want to reach them offline too. For example, if you attend a networking event, it is highly beneficial to have something tangible that you can put in the other person’s hand rather than just telling them to visit your website. People tend to make a different connection to the things that they can hold in their hands than what they see online.

Part of a Multichannel Strategy 

For many businesses, it isn’t about online versus offline marketing. Instead, they choose to focus on a combination of the two. In fact, they can dovetail well and help to boost your business from different areas.

As you can see from the list of reasons above, print marketing still has a very valuable part to play in the development of successful businesses.
