Three reasons why your company’s profile on LinkedIn matters

This article is about your company’s profile on LinkedIn – that is, the way in which you choose to present your company. There are several aspects to how you present your company, but language is a very important factor. The way you use language to make the story of your company come alive affects what your present and potential customers think of your company.

There are different positions on the importance of linguistically correct language, and some say it is insignificant as long as the receivers understand the content. Linguistic accuracy, however, does matter – at least if you want to help your readers understand your message and avoid misunderstandings. Therefore, consider using someone who provides online editing services to make sure your content on LinkedIn is free from misspellings and incoherent language.

Here are three reasons why your LinkedIn profile matters.

  1. LinkedIn can establish your company as an expert

Posting on LinkedIn is perfect for establishing your company as a trustworthy expert in your field. You must show your connections that you are worth following, by keeping them updated on the latest knowledge, tips and trends within your professional field. Share posts and articles where you offer new and interesting information.

Linguistically correct language is particularly important when posting on LinkedIn, because recipients are often more critical and expect greater professionalism. Often, the people who follow your company on LinkedIn comprise your own employees, people who might want to work for you, and fellow professionals and companies in your field.

The content you post on LinkedIn should be about your company, your professional field, or subjects relating to the job market and industry in general. You could, for example, offer guides, inspirational stories about how to run a successful business, or an exploration of trends within your field.

If you can establish yourself as an expert in the eyes of your receivers, potential customers are more likely to seek your services when they need someone with your professional skill set.

  1. LinkedIn can build trust between you and your customers

One of the most valuable qualities of LinkedIn is that it can help build trust between your company and your customers or potential customers. This is partly because of the previously mentioned ability to establish your company as a trustworthy expert. It is also because LinkedIn is the perfect place for your company to let present and potential customers get to know it on a more personal level. Whereas your website offers more general information about your company, LinkedIn – and social media in general – can show a more personal site.

For example, you can use LinkedIn to introduce both old and new employees. When you show the real faces of the people behind your company, it increases your company’s credibility. This way, your customers know who they might meet when they contact your company.

  1. LinkedIn can attract competent employees

LinkedIn can be used for so-called employer branding. Employer branding means attracting new employees and showing them why they might want to work for your company. Improving the chances of finding competent employees can be really valuable for your company.

To attract new employees, a good approach might be to show what a normal day in your company looks like, or to explain what the company does to improve the working environment on a daily basis.

Hopefully, this article has shown what LinkedIn can do for your company.
