If you are on the hunt for a grill during this new season, you should consider some factors before completing your purchase.

You can choose multiple grill types in the modern-day, such as a pellet grill, a gas grill, or the classic charcoal grills. Whatever your choice is, you should know each one works differently but can get the job done if you know how to use them.

Therefore, selecting a new grill for your backyard means you must think about the fuel, size, price, and style –to mention a few things.

This task may seem overwhelming, which is why we have summarized it for you. Here you have some factors that will teach you how to choose a grill for the New Year.

Before getting started, please start thinking about how big you would want your grill to be. Smaller grills may be less costly, but they may not be a good match for you.

Here you can find a comparison between the PK Grill vs. Weber to find out what option is best, according to the factors below.

For this article, we’ll focus on the fuel type the grills use. It’s great for starters, as different fuels will grant your food a different taste and structure. Let’s begin!

What fuel type does it use?

Since there are too many grill models out there, even selecting a few options may seem overwhelming. Therefore, one of the primary factors you should consider is fuel; then, you can start looking everywhere else.

Each fuel matches a different cooking style, which means you should choose the one that’s more convenient for you. Let’s start describing these factors:

Gas

Gas grills are one of the most common. They are convenient and can do their job pretty well. They usually have a liquid propane tank, but it’s also possible for you to connect them to your house’s source of natural gas.

There is a bit of controversy when it comes to using a liquid propane tank or natural gas. If you prefer going for the natural gas option, you should know you won’t be able to move your grill, but you’ll save a lot of money and won’t have to refill your propane tank once it is over.

On the other hand, with propane tanks, you’ll be able to move your grill anywhere you’d like. But don’t worry; most gas grills nowadays are adjustable to both options.

Gas grills also grant you more control while cooking, as they allow you to control the temperature freely.

Charcoal

Charcoal is another good option, and many people love it due to the delicious smoky flavor it adds to your food. They can be significant, small, or medium, depending on your needs. Although charcoal grills can be convenient for most people, they have some drawbacks you should know.

As its name says, these grills need charcoal briquettes or charcoal lumps to function. It will take you a bit of time to pre-heat the grill, so you can’t start cooking right away. You will also be obligated to clean the grill and all the disposes of it created once you’re done.

Charcoal grills also do not grant you as much control over your food as you want, but they add a delicious flavor to your food. They are also affordable, costing as low as fifty dollars.

Pellet Grills

A pellet grill’s fuel is wood pellets and usually comes with enough features for you to control your food as much as you want. Another perk is that, like charcoal grills, it adds a smoky flavor, but they have a catch: your food will have a different flavor depending on the wood type you decide to use.

However, pellet grills can be tricky. While you can quickly go out and recharge your propane tank or buy charcoal, you can’t do the same thing with wood pellets. You may have to make a phone call or order them online, and your bank account should also be ready. Wood pellets are expensive!

Still, whatever you cook with a pellet grill will have high-quality, so every dollar you spend on them will be worth it. Still, these grills are not for everyone, as they can be quite costly.

The usual prices for pellet grills are between $350 and $1,300.
