To transport a dog in transport, you must comply with all the rules prescribed in the laws of the country you are traveling to. It is necessary to properly prepare the animal for the trip, collect all the documents, and perform the required procedures. Pet transportation standards change depending on geography: somewhere, they cannot enter public transport, but they are happy on a par with other passengers. Let’s talk about the rules that pet owners adhere to around the world.
When planning a flight with a pet, first of all, it is worth studying the rules for transporting animals established by the chosen airline since everyone’s requirements are slightly different.
General rules and documents for the carriage of a dog
To transport a dog abroad or travel with it, you need to make a veterinary certificate, a certificate of the animal’s condition, and a veterinary and sanitary passport. All these documents are drawn up at the veterinary clinic five days before departure. The veterinarian will examine the pet, prescribe deworming, and vaccinate against rabies and other infectious infections. The test results and the fact of all procedures will be entered in the passport.
Categories of dogs that cannot be transported:
- Pregnant individuals in the third trimester;
- Animals experiencing pain from movement;
- Pets with serious body wounds.
To export an animal to another country, it must be chipped – a capsule with a microchip, which contains a unique 15-digit number, is inserted under the skin. Information on this code is entered into an electronic database. The procedure itself is painless, and the capsule is no larger than a pea. The animal is chipped only after the administration of vaccines.
The specifics of transporting a large dog
Large dogs of hunting and service breeds are transported in a muzzle, collar, and short leash. On the bus, the animal can only ride on the back platform, away from the aisle. To transport a large dog on the train, the owner must purchase all the seats in the compartment. If you need to go by car, they hire a car with a hatchback – a body equipped in the form of a cage. A large dog is sent to the cargo compartment on airplanes if its weight with the container exceeds 8 kilograms.
For puppies with a mother, it is better to purchase small enclosures so that the kids can run and play, and at the same time do not get under their feet or climb into unwanted places.
Transportable hundebur are essential for transporting dogs. To travel on a train, bus, plane, it is necessary – without carrying, you have the right not to be allowed in. The transport hundebur is small and folds compactly, which is very convenient. You can assemble the cage literally in 5 minutes. That is, you can fold the structure and place it in the pet’s carrier just before boarding a train or plane.
For traveling in a car, a cage will also be helpful. However, you can do without it – in-store, you can buy unique car mats for the trunk and car interior, thanks to which the dogs will be comfortable, and the seats will not have to be cleaned of dirt and wool. But for small breeds, carrying is still preferable – the pet is more comfortable in it.
Criteria for choosing a hundebur for dogs
The essential requirement for a hundebur isthe optimal size. So that the dog does not hate the cage and can be in itcalmly, choose a spacious model. The height should be such that the pet can sitwithout bending its head, and the base should allow the dog to lie down,
stretch out, and freely change its position. A crate that is too small will not
only be uncomfortable – staying in it for a long time can cause healthproblems.
To make it easier to determine the size, we give the approximate parameters of the hundebur for different breeds:
- 64 x 54 x 48 cm – a carrier for dwarf and small breeds: Toy Terrier, Maltese, Chihuahua, Yorkshire terrier, Pomeranian, Japanese Chin, etc.
