Over the recent past, technology has made huge strides, with artificial intelligence gaining popularity for its ability to generate human-like content. As a result, AI writing is becoming common, with companies and organizations turning to it to generate copies. Unfortunately, while AI is still under development and imperfect, it is already proving to be a threat to the livelihoods of professional writers. This article delves into the debate, examining why AI is a problem for writers and its strengths and weaknesses.

Is AI the End for Human Writers?

The worry for most writers is that AI is not threatening the automation of low-skilled jobs like content creation. On the contrary, machines replace highly skilled writing jobs like novels and dissertations. Of course, some time may pass before artificial intelligence is developed well enough to replace human writers globally completely. However, as technology improvements continue, the day when we depend on technology to do all writing jobs is fast approaching.

So, does the popularity of AI mean an end to professional writers? The answer is “not yet.” We choose to look at the glass as half full. With the improvements in tech, writers working for ghostwriting websites have access to some incredible tools they can use, including AI. While there is no need to panic, the speedy progression of AI in writing is worrying.

Fundamental Differences Between AI and Human Writing

In some cases, the content created by artificial applications is indistinguishable from those of human writers. For example, the programs can respond to users’ prompts and produce a wide range of texts. However, fundamental differences exist between human writing and AI writing. Here are a few.

  • AI Lacks Emotional Intelligence

Most AI tools indeed lack emotional intelligence. However, evidence shows that technology is being developed to allow Ai to create emotion-infused content. For instance, one of the hallmarks of effective writing is that the content should be emotional to capture readers’ attention. AI is speedily developing and can now identify and analyze data related to the theme online.

  • AI Generates Great Quality and a Wider Variety

Even the best writers can only focus on a few niches for which they are comfortable generating quality content. Therefore, top writers concentrate their knowledge and expertise on one area they prefer to write. Also, human beings are limited in the quantity of content they produce daily. On average, human writers can produce about 3000 words per day.

However, AI writing tools are more efficient, effortlessly generating content without being exhausted or saturated. In other words, writers and organizations that want to increase their content capacity can benefit from using AI. Artificial intelligence can help by creating more quantity in rough drafts, which the professional writer can edit and proofread into more refined content.

  • There’s No Writer Block With AI

One of the most significant challenges professional writers face is writer’s block. This is a phenomenon where writers struggle to stay creative and generate ideas for content. You could be working on an incredible blog or article when your mind suddenly goes blank, and you have nothing more to add to the text.

Writer’s block is a problem that AI doesn’t have. The tools never have to deal with zero motivation to generate content. All they need is someone to press a button, and the next generation begins. In this sense, human writers can use artificial intelligence to improve their writing. To grow your skills, learn more here.

  • Translations and Plagiarism Can Be a Problem With AI

Artificial intelligence creates content by pulling bits of wording and text copy from the internet. Of course, plagiarism will always be a problem when the material is made in this manner. Therefore, writers and organizations are encouraged to run any copy generated by AI through plagiarism detection tools.

Also, evidence shows that translations made by AI tend to be clunky. Remember, an AI tool is only as effective as its creator. When you use AI to develop content in a language different from the native language of the people who engineered it, there are likely to be problems with translation. As such, it makes sense to have a human proofread the text generated by AI before it is submitted to its target audience.

Although artificial intelligence can generate content within seconds, it is unlikely to replace human writers. Any text created by AI will still need to be checked by human writers for content, grammar, spelling, and typing consistency. Also, while AI is impressive in the quantity of output, it cannot match the creativity and wisdom of human writers.
